WOODSTOWN, New Jersey (WPVI) — At the woodshop in this senior living community, Don and Bob can be seen creating pieces of art, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Through the shared hobby of wood carving, they have created a strong bond.

“When I wanted to learn how to make a walking stick, Don guided me through it. Now, when I’m making stuff, I bring it for Don to critique it for me,” said Bob White, Maintenance Manager at Friends Village.

“Don knows the process, so he understands why it takes so long or what I’m doing. So it’s a good friendship, a good mix,” he continued.

“One of the things that I really love about senior living communities is watching the relationship bloom between residents and team members, seeing that beautiful relationship has been inspiring to me. And so that’s why I do what I do,” said Executive Director of Friends Village, Tina Boukalis.
