Lifelong Learning | Aging & Long-Term Care

 This talk, based on findings from an ongoing research project, will focus on how primary physicians and geriatricians talk about aging and long-term care. Based on the analysis of interviews conducted with doctors both in Italy and the United States the talk explores how these important social actors develop labels to define different forms of aging, generate and promote ideal standards of care, and, in the process, reaffirm existing gendered norms and expectations.
