Riverwalk Village at The House of The Good Shepherd to Host the Hackettstown Area Senior Hall of Fame

Senior Hall of Fame Recipients to be Honored in May

HACKETTSTOWN – February 5, 2024 – The Hackettstown Area Senior Hall of Fame will be hosted, for the third year in a row, by Riverwalk Village at The House of the Good Shepherd, a FellowshipLIFE community in Hackettstown, New Jersey. The Senior Hall of Fame honorees are recognized during a celebration luncheon and ceremony at David’s Country Inn on May 8, in honor of Older Americans Month.

The Hackettstown Area Senior Hall of Fame was established in 1997 to recognize senior citizens in the Northwest New Jersey region who have made a significant impact on the lives of others in the community. Originally, the event was created as part of the community outreach initiative at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Riverwalk Village at The House of the Good Shepherd expresses gratitude for the generous contributions of the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center and is committed to sustaining their mission. Nominations for the Senior Hall of Fame are now open for the Hackettstown area and individuals 60 years old or older as of Jan. 1, 2024, are eligible to be nominated.

“Embrace the diverse stories of our community by nominating exceptional seniors who have crafted a lifetime filled with wisdom, resilience and inspiration,” said Sue Lanza, the Executive Director of Riverwalk Village at the House of The Good Shepherd. “Join us in commemorating their legacy, ensuring their remarkable contributions are honored before the deadline on March 22.”

When presenting a nomination, the supporting information should include how the senior has made a difference in their community and which organization or individuals have benefited from their specific efforts, including volunteerism, if applicable. The community’s input is important to the selection committee as they honor their local seniors.
